Staffers from ALA’s Office for Intellectual Freedom will examine the state of censorship in libraries, including recent trends of organized groups subverting formal reconsideration processes and legislation that aims to prevent librarians from upholding policies and doing their jobs. 1–2 p.m. Saturday, January 20.

Presenters will share best practices for librarians and educators looking to make instructional materials fully accessible. The program will cover elements such as fonts, hyperlinks, alt text, color, and contrast. 2:10–2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 20.

Award-winning journalist Antonia Hylton will discuss her new book, Madness: Race and Insanity in a Jim Crow Asylum, which tells the story of the Crownsville Hospital in Maryland and explores the legacy of how Black families grapple with mental health. 3–4 p.m. Saturday, January 20.
