Comedian, former Daily Show host, and New York Times bestselling author Trevor Noah will open Annual Conference with a discussion of his forthcoming book, Into the Uncut Grass. 4–5:30 p.m. Friday, June 28.

This second-annual event honors librarians’ resilience in protecting the freedom to read. The rally, to be held at Hilton San Diego Bayfront (1 Park Blvd.), will feature poet, essayist, and cultural critic and the presentation of ALA’s Intellectual Freedom Awards. A reception with a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres precedes the rally. 7–8 p.m. (reception), 8–9 p.m. (rally) Friday, June 28.

Geek out with ALA’s Games and Gaming Round Table at this drop-in gaming social. Enjoy titles from such publishers as Cards Against Humanity, Indie Press Revolution, and Wizards of the Coast. 7:30–10 p.m. Friday, June 28.
