Actor Max Greenfield often did an exercise about conquering fears with the late actor Leslie Jordan. Together, they made lists of their current anxieties. Jordan’s list was always the more entertaining one, Greenfield said.

San Diego Public Library, in partnership with the City of San Diego and the nonprofit Media Arts Center San Diego, launched a paid internship program comprising a video production training course. The classes offered hands-on opportunities to pitch a documentary idea, shoot film, interview subjects, and edit in post-production.

What comes after the diversity audit? At this program, attendees will learn how to identify policies that support inclusive collections and design a plan that promotes diversity in materials beyond celebration and heritage months. 10:30–11:30 a.m. Monday, July 1.

Panelists will discuss how information professionals have approached generative artificial intelligence (AI) through the services they provide, as well as how to locate and use resources to enhance AI literacy in their communities and find interest groups dedicated to AI issues. 1–2 p.m. Monday, July 1.

From creating native seed libraries to converting landscaping into pollinator-friendly spaces, library workers can promote biodiversity at their institutions even with limited options. This program will cover different pathways to practicing sustainability. 4–5 p.m. Monday, July 1.
